Hargrave Ministries Explains Why the Haifa Home for Holocaust Survivors is So Important

The Holocaust was arguably the worst humanitarian crisis of the twentieth century. During the Holocaust, Adolf Hitler ordered that all Jewish people in Germany and in their occupied territories should be captured, imprisoned, and in many cases, killed for their beliefs. While some deluded people doubt that the Holocaust happened, its indelible effect on world history cannot be denied.

As of 2020, there are approximately 400,000 Holocaust survivors still living in the world. 193,800 of these people live in Israel. These elders are worthy of society’s respect and support.

Today, the Holocaust survivors that are still living have reached an advanced age. Many are scarred by the events of their youth, and they have experienced mental and physical effects from their imprisonment that have lasted throughout their lives. They lost friends and family members to the Holocaust, and their experiences have changed them.

Holocaust survivors are often impoverished or struggling with illness. Many more live alone and are isolated from the community. Helping these survivors with their pain and supporting them physically and financially is crucially important in today’s society. There are many ways in which the community of Holocaust survivors needs everyone’s support.

The Work of ICEJ

Fortunately, there is a network of charitable organizations that provides support for these honored elders. One of the primary providers of help for Holocaust survivors is ICEJ, or the International Christian Embassy of Jerusalem. In the spirit of kindness and religious understanding, ICEJ provides a wide variety of services to its clients.

One of ICEJ’s most popular programs is the Haifa Home for Holocaust Survivors. The Haifa Home was founded in 2009, offering assisted living in a warm and friendly family environment. While there were other programs for Holocaust survivors, the Haifa Home was unique in that it provided housing.

In its early days, the Home was merely a place for Holocaust survivors to live, but as the years have gone by, more services have been added to support their residents and the surrounding community. The Haifa Home has put on services, activities, and celebrations for its residents and local Holocaust survivors who are living independently or with their families.

Hargrave Ministries

One of many supporters of the Haifa Home is Hargrave Ministries. Based in California, this ministry is spearheaded by Gary Hargrave. Hargrave believes in the importance of unifying Jewish and Christian people based on their shared religious background. Hargrave Ministries supports charities like the Haifa Home and leads tours of the Holy Land for interested Christians from the United States and other countries around the world.

Hargrave Ministries believes that a spirit of cooperation between Jews and Christians can help with many of the social problems that plague Israel in the twenty-first century, including widespread poverty in certain areas.

Gary Hargrave holds Biblical teachings to be the core of the Christian experience. Through sharing Biblical teachings, he hopes to bring modern Christians back to their roots. In addition, Hargrave believes that Christians need to explore their connection to the Holy Land in order to come to a full understanding of their religion.

Hargrave has ministered for decades, and he has worked closely with important leaders in the Protestant, Catholic, and Jewish communities. The major tenet of his beliefs is that spiritual maturity can bring on unity between religions.

Gary Hargrave records a popular weekly podcast called Growing in God. This podcast covers a broad variety of topics, including the importance of five key revelations that every believer should understand. The podcast strives to give believers the tools to expand their own religious knowledge as well as teaching them important lessons about Christianity.

One of the most important is understanding the Jewish roots of the Christian religion. Hargrave Ministries believes that there should not be religious tension between Jews and Christians due to their shared origins. Christians need to support Jewish causes like the Haifa House as a way of showing that they care.

Hargrave Ministries gives financial support to the Haifa Home for Holocaust Survivors through ICEJ.
