Julian Assange.
On Sunday, Julian Assange was interview by Jordi Évole in LaSexta, a Spanish broadcast network.
The controversial founder of WikiLeaks, who is being held at the Embassy of Ecuador in London since last summer, spoke of problematic policies that deal with government transparency and works “revealing” secrets and abuses in power on behalf of Wikileaks.
The British press has highlighted that during the interview, the Australian activist has read some emails from the GCHQ, a major British intelligence agency. These communications contain speculations and talks on rape charges levied on Assange in Sweden.
According to Assange, the intercepted documents contained words such as, “They try to arrest him for that … seems definitely a cover up …”.
In another intercepted conversation read by Assange, he talks about the situation of confinement to avoid arrest in London, “He figures he will stay at the embassy about 12 months before Sweden drop the charges against him … but it work out … he is a fool … an optimistic fool. “
Assange had not explained during the interview how he obtained the data on these intercepted emails, but did pointed out that the information was declassified, and said that “this is just what spies commented between them.”
The Wikileaks founder, commented on these alleged communications between British spies when being asked as to what would happen if you leave the Ecuadorian embassy.
“he would be arrested immediately,” Assange recalled.
