By Don Irvine.

A new Politico/Morning Consult poll shows that almost half of voters, 46 percent, believe that the news media fabricates news stories about President Trump and his administration.

Just 37 percent disagree, while, 17 percent are undecided, according to the poll.

Voters are divided along partisan lines with 76 percent of Republicans agreeing that the media fabricate stories about Trump and his administration, compared to just 11 percent who don’t think so. Among Democrats, just 20 percent think the media invents stories about Trump, while 65 percent disagree. The results are closer among independent voters with 44 percent believing the media makes up stories versus 31 percent who don’t.

Trump has repeatedly hammered the media–reiterating his feelings yesterday when he called NBC and CNN “jokes” during an interview with a Washington, D.C., area radio station.
